ICU bed
Introduction

ICU beds, commonly known as ICU nursing beds, are nursing beds used in intensive care units (ICU). Intensive care medicine has emerged as a form of medical organization management
that integrates modern medical nursing technology with the development of medical nursing and improvement of hospital management systems. ICU beds are essential medical equipment in ICU wards.

Functions

Due to the critical condition of patients in the ICU, many newly admitted patients are in a life-threatening state such as shock. Therefore, the nursing work in the ward is complex and arduous,
and the requirements for standard ICU beds are also very strict. The main functional requirements are as follows:

1. Multi-position adjustment: The bed uses safe and reliable, performance-stable medical silent motors to control the overall lifting of the bed, as well as the lifting of the backboard and thigh board.
It can be adjusted to positions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) position, cardiac chair position, "FOWLER" position, MAX examination position, Trendelenburg position/reverse
Trendelenburg position. The central control system can display the angles of the backboard, leg board, Trendelenburg/reverse Trendelenburg positions, and lateral rotation, meeting clinical needs.

2. Turning assistance: Due to the presence of many patients with profound consciousness disorders in the ICU, they cannot turn over autonomously and require frequent assistance from
nursing staff for turning, cleaning, and prevention of pressure ulcers. Without turning assistance, it usually takes two to three personnel to assist in turning and cleaning a patient,
and nursing staff are prone to back injuries, which greatly inconvenience clinical nursing staff. Modern standard ICU beds can easily assist patients in turning by foot pedals or handheld controls.

3. Convenient operation: ICU beds can control the movement of the bed in multiple directions. The side rails, end board, handheld controller, and foot pedal controls on both sides all have control functions.
This allows nursing staff to operate and control the bed simply according to the convenience of nursing and rescue. In addition, there are functions such as one-key reset, one-key position,
and alarm for leaving the bed, which are used to supervise the mobility of patients in the transition and recovery period.

4. Accurate weighing function: Critical patients in ICU wards need a large amount of fluid exchange every day, and it is crucial to record the intake and excretion accurately.
Traditional methods involve manually recording fluid intake and output, but this can easily overlook sweat secretion or rapid burning and consumption of body fat.
With accurate weighing function, continuous weight monitoring of patients allows doctors to conveniently compare the difference between the two sets of data
and make timely adjustments to the treatment plan. This can improve the data management of quality changes in patient treatment. At present,
the weighing accuracy of mainstream ICU beds has reached 10-20g.

5. Back X-ray requirements: X-rays of critically ill patients can be taken in the ICU ward. The backboard is equipped with an X-ray film cassette sliding rail,
allowing near-total body imaging without moving the patient.

6. Flexible mobility and brakes: ICU wards require nursing beds to have flexible mobility and stable brake fixation, which facilitates rescue and internal transportation.
Central control brakes and medical universal casters are commonly used.
